National Grid's current residential plans do not use time-of-use peak/off-peak pricing — the standard Basic Service Residential (R-1) plan charges ~29.3¢/kWh regardless of when you use electricity. If National Grid rolls out a time-of-use option in the future, peak hours would typically fall during weekday afternoons and early evenings when grid demand is highest. Until then, shifting usage away from peak hours won't reduce your bill, but reducing overall usage (efficient appliances, LED lighting, better insulation) still will.
