PSE&G Solar Energy Options

Solar energy options available to PSE&G customers. Compare rooftop solar, community solar, and solar lease programs in your area.

Rooftop Solar

Installing solar panels on your roof is the most common option for PSE&G customers. With the 30% federal tax credit, payback periods are typically 6-10 years. You'll need a south-facing roof with minimal shading and enough space for your desired system size. PSE&G's net metering program credits you for excess production.

Community Solar

If rooftop solar isn't feasible, community solar programs let you subscribe to a share of a local solar farm. You receive credits on your PSE&G bill for your share of the farm's production. No installation required, and you can typically cancel with 30-90 days notice. Check availability in your area.

Solar Leases & PPAs

Solar leases and power purchase agreements (PPAs) let you go solar with no upfront cost. A third party owns the panels on your roof and you pay a fixed monthly fee or per-kWh rate that's typically lower than PSE&G's retail rate. The trade-off is you don't own the system and miss out on tax credits.
